Little Mix 'Move' Music Video Makeup Looks

The Little Mix girls are fast becoming my go-to beauty inspirations. I love the looks in their new music video 'Move'. 

Bright bold lips

I love Jesy's sultry look of darker outlined golden-red pout with smouldering bronze eyes, but my favourite is definitely Jade's fuchsia popping lips with perfect heavy-winged liner. She looks amazing. Saying that, I also can't wait to try a glossy purple lip colour à la Perrie.

Gorgeous nude lips

Perfectly flawless complexions, amazing contouring and soft nude lips - this section of the video has really inspired me to strip back my make up look every now and again. Perrie's cheeks look super defined, and I've got serious envy for the creamy nude colour on Jesy's lips.

Lancôme have released a brand new range of Hypnôse eye palettes, and I really love this one in Gris Fumé. The compact is classic Lancôme, so stylish. The smouldering pinks and greys are gorgeous, they really compliment blue eyes. So beautiful!

Laura Mercier Caviar Sticks in Mint Snow and Seashell for Pretty Peepers

Laura Mercier Caviar Sticks in Mint Snow and Seashell, £20.50 each

I love the Laura Mercier Caviar Sticks. I seem to live my life dashing here, there and everywhere, and I know I can pop these compact little sticks in my bag without even the slightest fear of shadow crumble. Mint Snow and Seashell are new editions for Spring/Summer 2013 collection, and they are just SO pretty. 

The subtle, glistening blue hue of Mint Snow blends gorgeously with the pearly white Seashell. I focused Seashell in the tear duct area and the mid-section of the lid, gradually blending into The Mint Snow - with maximum intensity at the outer edge of the eyelid. 

Using an angled brush, take the Mint Snow round the outer edge of the eye and half way underneath the waterline.

Add a touch of highlighter to the tear duct area to really open up the eye. I used MAC Cosmetics Shadow in Nylon. 

Complete the look with a fine line of turquoise liquid liner on the lashline and waterline (I used Eye Perfect semi-permanent eyeliner), with a few coats of thick black mascara (They're Real by Benefit). To compliment the shimmering pearly-blue look, I used soft pink and coral tones on the cheeks (Dandelion and Sugarbomb by Benefit) and wore a dewy light pink on the lips (112 Fantasque by Chanel)

Revlon Nearly Naked: Foundation Review

Revlon have brought out a brand new foundation range, 'Nearly Naked', £8.99 for the liquid foundation with SPF20, and despite its absolutely hideous (okay, slightly clunky, pardon my incessant need to exaggerate) packaging, the beautiful finish of this High Street foundation is actually very impressive. 

But first, let me get this moanathon out of the way. Mr Revlon big boss man, why would you put such a great foundation in such a un-user friendly bottle? I do not want to have to pour my foundation onto my palm. No, I do not. Undoubtedly my pristine black blouse will look mauled by the sand monster in approximately five seconds. Nor do I want to cart around a heavy glass bottle with a cheap-looking white lid. Phew.

But me and this foundation have found a way to work through our early relationship troubles (I've armed my dresser with a pack of baby wipes) and as you can see in the picture above, the result is light, even and flawless. You really have to buff the foundation into the skin (circular motions with a foundation brush, as if working in a moisturiser) and my skin was fresh and soft after application, with a slightly dewy finish. It softens uneven skin tones, minimising ruddy cheeks or shadows, but does not look too opaque or plastic. A great foundation for the daytime, definitely one of the best I've tried out this year. Now if only I could have a word with the packaging designers...

Top Tip: For an extra flawless finish, sweep a layer of mineral powder foundation over the liquid foundation once it has settled on the face. It makes all the difference! I used Revlon Nearly Naked Pressed Powder, £7.99 (also a fantastic product but with slightly ghastly packaging...not taking any prisoners on the aesthetics here am I?!)

Gold and Turquoise Shimmering Eyeshadow Effect

For a gorgeous Arabic inspired shadow effect, try a shimmering gold across your eyelids, fading into a rich turquoise. So Princess Jasmine. Here's how I got a look fit for Aladdin's finest cave...

How-to
1. Sweep a warm gold shade across your eyelids.
2. Add a few dabs of Benefit Sun Beam Illuminator below your brows and blend down into the golden shadow
3. Now apply the turquoise. Start in the far corner and gradually blend into the gold. The turquoise should be darkest at the very corner of your eyelid. A good eyeshadow brush makes this look a gazillion times easier.
4. Complete the blend with a few sweeps of gold into the blue shades. Voila, prettier than a butterfly!

Top tip: Notch up the drama of this trend by extending the turquoise out into a delicious feline point.

Get Flawless: MAC Studio Sculpt Foundation SPF15

I've made that ever-so dangerous move. I visited the MAC counter in Selfridges and asked for their recommendations. And now I want EVERYTHING. I'm not entirely sure just how this happens, but when you sit in that mildly uncomfortable chair, close your eyes and allow the MAC make-up artist work their wonderful magic, you may as well give them all of your savings, right there and then. 

'But it really is worth it', you will utter as you hand over your weekly food allowance in lieu of some Mineralize Skinfinish Natural (which is, coincidentally, one of the best products for enhancing facial contours whilst still looking natural)

So yes, I made the leap. And yes, I am now a MAC foundation convert. I purchased the Studio Sculpt SPF 15, £24, available from MAC cosmetics, as I wanted a medium coverage which still has a luminous, glowy appearance as opposed to matte.

Studio Sculpt has a really thick liquid consistency, it's a gel based foundation which is fantastic for dry skin, which is best applied with a foundation brush. It's also buildable, so you can layer the application to create a high coverage. Here's a before and after picture, featuring my dear friend Anna...

I would recommend leaving the foundation for a couple of minutes before applying any powder to the skin surface, as it does set after you apply it. I'd recommend buying the complimenting Mineralise Skinfinish Natural powder, £21, to apply over the Studio Sculpt for an utterly flawless finish.
