Laura Mercier Caviar Sticks in Mint Snow and Seashell for Pretty Peepers

Laura Mercier Caviar Sticks in Mint Snow and Seashell, £20.50 each

I love the Laura Mercier Caviar Sticks. I seem to live my life dashing here, there and everywhere, and I know I can pop these compact little sticks in my bag without even the slightest fear of shadow crumble. Mint Snow and Seashell are new editions for Spring/Summer 2013 collection, and they are just SO pretty.

The subtle, glistening blue hue of Mint Snow blends gorgeously with the pearly white Seashell. I focused Seashell in the tear duct area and the mid-section of the lid, gradually blending into The Mint Snow - with maximum intensity at the outer edge of the eyelid.

Using an angled brush, take the Mint Snow round the outer edge of the eye and half way underneath the waterline.

Add a touch of highlighter to the tear duct area to really open up the eye. I used MAC Cosmetics Shadow in Nylon

Complete the look with a fine line of turquoise liquid liner on the lashline and waterline (I used Eye Perfect semi-permanent eyeliner), with a few coats of thick black mascara (They're Real by Benefit). To compliment the shimmering pearly-blue look, I used soft pink and coral tones on the cheeks (Dandelion and Sugarbomb by Benefit) and wore a dewy light pink on the lips (112 Fantasque by Chanel)

Laura Mercier Luxurious Crème Smooth Lip Colour in Fresh Raspberry: Juicy NEW shade for Spring 2013

As you may or may not know, I'm a big fan of Laura Mercier products. I love the understated yet undoubtedly quality packaging, and the products themselves never fail to deliver. The brand new Fresh Raspberry shade of their Crème Smooth Lip Colour range is simply divine, it's fruity and fresh without being crass.

This lippy feels lovely and soft on the lips, and doesn't end up travelling across your face after a few glasses of bubbly. It ticks all my boxes: gorgeous eye-catching colour, moisturising, with stay-put-ability. Well worthy of the most fabulous of clutches.

Spring 2013: Beauty Must Haves

Sun-kissed bliss is almost upon us. It's time to whip out the sunglasses (any excuse to prance around channeling the aura of V-Becks!) and get ready for Spring 2013. Here are my top products for the up-coming warmer months...

The Blush: Benefit Dandelion Brightening Face Powder, £23.50
A super pretty pink with a gorgeous light shimmer. This cute blush is all the fresh, floral loveliness of spring in a nice little box. Sweep over the cheek bones for a radiant girlie-pink hue. And it's absolutely beautiful for those with fair skin.

I love this bronzing palette, and as the weather warms up it's always nice to add subtle glow to a sun-deprived visage. The two tones are fantastic for building the illusion of cheekbones, as you can use the darker shade to emphasize the hollows of your cheeks. The mineral powder smells lush, and contains SPF15 for extra skin protection. Glorious!

The Highlighter: Barry M Dazzle Dust in Gold Iridescent, £4.59
I use the tiniest amount of this shimmer-packed powder on the brow and cheek bones for a light catching finish. Really pretty and illuminating, and quite a bargain too!

The Nails: Rococo Nail Apparel in Jaded Creme, £12
The minty cream shade looks amazing with a tan, and is so on trend this season. It's an eye-catcher too, with a light shimmer that reminds me of mother of pearl. Rococo is quite thin in consistency but it dries quick, two or three coats does the job nicely. Prepare for glances of admiration when you pop this little number on your talons.

The Lips: Go Mulberry! Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter in Sugar Plum, £7.99
The mulberry lip trend is STILL going strong, and this brand new shade of lip butter by Revlon is bang on. They're really hydrating and soft too, perfect for a glossy pout.

The Face: Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser SPF20, £33
Too. much. love. for. this.
Seriously, it is really really good. If you don't feel like going all out with heavy foundation, a few dabs of this tinted moisturiser (with SPF20, bonus!) leaves the skin visibly lifted and bright. The illuminating version is great for spring/summer, you can look like a dewy, glowing goddess in an instant. It smells gorgeous, feels soft on the skin and adds a great boost of healthiness to any complexion.

The Hair: Pixie Waves with Mark Hill Wicked Waver, £59.99
I love a sexy wave in the warmer months, and I've been using this funky waver by Mark Hill to achieve a messy beach style. The waver is unique as it has random bumps, so each wave looks different and more natural. Spritz with Catwalk by TIGI Salt Spray for an extra beach-beautiful finish.

The Eyes: Clinique Cream Liner in Smoke Grey, £15.00
I've already harped on about how much I like these cream liners, but for those who missed it, I think the range by Clinique is ruddy brill. They glide on lovely, don't smudge once dry and last all day long. The smoke grey shade is a softer way of framing eyes, really nice for when you're wearing less make-up on a warm day.

Mother's Day: The Gift Guide

Long gone are the days of a slap-dash sweep of Thorntons when it comes to Mother's Day shopping. It's time to spoil those extra special ladies in your life. If you're lacking inspiration for the perfect Mother's Day gift, here's my tried and tested selection of gorgeous goods...

Clarins Palette Eclat Face & Blush Powder, £30... For the feminine Ma
Why? Because it is so elegant, any mum would be rather thrilled to pull this out of their make-up bag. It looks every inch an item of luxury, a splendid little golden compact with a crimson velvet pouch. The palette is ideal for those who like a flawless look with a very natural finish. Understated and oh so classy.

Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel, £34... For the on-the-go Mum
Why? Because it soaks in instantly, leaving skin hydrated but not greasy. Mums who are always on the go will love this beauty staple, I'm not sure if I could live without it. Skin is perfectly primed and it lasts for AGES. A clever little gift for sure.

Poudre Signee de Chanel Illuminating Powder, £46... For the happy-glow-lucky Mom
Why? This compact illuminator is so luxury that it's practically off the scale... so beautiful and ornate that it almost seems a sin to wear it! It makes a fabulous gift for those with a penchant for radiance, as it brings eye-catching luminosity without being gaudy. The velvet pouch holder is positively swoon-inducing. Ooohh, ahhhh...

Nails Inc Spring Summer Collection, £25... For the yummy Mummy
Why? Fashionista yummy mummies will know that Nails Inc (so fabulously British, darling!) are the top when it comes to on-trend talons. This super cute Spring/Summer 2013 collection is the perfect gift for those with an eye for style.

Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage Concealer, £26... For the new Mamma
Why? I am a huge fan of the Laura Mercier range, and her secret camouflage concealer does not disappoint. The separate peachy and creamy beige tones mean that you can combat and signs of fatigue with the help of a concealer brush. For mums that are weary, worn-out, and prone to saying: "oh-my-god-will-you-pleeease-stop-crying-now", this one is a total winner.

Les Exclusifs de Chanel 1932, £110... For the iconic Mother
Why? Because it's more iconic than Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany's. Okay, maybe that's a slight exaggeration (nothing tops Audrey) but this latest fragrance launch by Chanel is definitely up there. One whiff and you know you're in classic Chanel territory. The fact that Jacques Polge, Creator of Chanel perfumes, has created 1932, is no doubt to thank. Jasmine-based, this fragrance is initially sweet and crisp with a musk warmth. Sophistication in a classy little bottle.
Available exclusively in the Covent Garden Pop-Up Store, Chanel Boutiques, House of Fraser Glasgow, Fenwicks Newcastle, Selfridges Manchester Exchange and Selfridges W1 from 1 March 2013.

Hot Beauty Trend Alert! Cross the Line...

One of the hottest trends this season is an eye-popping stroke of liner, the more creative the better! Laura Mercier have brought out a brand new range of Creme liners in cute little pots, I love the bright cosmic blue shade (so on trend for SS13!) and the rich, dark chocolate brown.

The richly pigmented shades are simply gorgeous, they glide on perfect and last all day. I use the Laura Mercier Angled Eyeliner Brush, £15.00, available from House of Fraser, for all my gel-based liners, it's really good, one of the best I've used for getting a perfect line on the lid. The expresso shade is so dark that it's almost black, a really deep brown. See the swatches below:

Clinique's cream liners are a firm fave for a trusty stroke of eye wonderment. They're my number one choice for  day wear office, so luxe and moisturising. I love the Smoke Grey, so soft and smouldering! The Black Honey shade is really unique, a glistening nutty brown which adds a gentle warmth to the eyelids, while the True Black is a make-up bag must. It's beautifully matte, perfect for a dramatic charcoal finish.

The Clinique liner do come with a brush included in the packaging, but I'm not overly impressed with the quality of it. Instead I use the Laura Mercier angled brush, for a more precise finish.

Laura Mercier Caviar Stick Eye Colour in Sugar Frost

Laura Mercier's range of Caviar Sticks has got even better this spring, as they have released eight more gorgeous shades for seriously glam eyelids. I tried out the Sugar Frost, a subtle shimmering beige.  So pretty!
I love the classic LM packaging, simple and sophisticated as ever. The stick is great if you're on the go, you can pop it in your handbag without worrying about a shadow brush rolling around. The creamy shadow sits really nicely on the eyelids, and I found it really easy to blend. Gorgeous for a daytime glow, and buildable for those wilder evenings.
